We are a community committed to helping each of our children and families realize the full benefit of a complete Montessori experience that meets the needs of the whole child. We recognize that a partnership between school and home is a critical part of the successful development of our children.
Arlington Montessori House is an AMI Accredited Montessori school in the heart of Arlington, VA. We have two classes in two adjacent houses that share a common driveway and large playground. Each classroom serves 28 students (of mixed ages) led by an AMI certified Primary teacher and one assistant. Both teachers hold Association Montessori International (AMI) certification. Our program is a three or four year program, culminating in the child's kindergarten year, and we expect new families to enroll with the intention of allowing their child to complete this primary cycle. The kindergarten year is the culmination of the primary level Montessori experience where children reap the benefits of the past two or three years, facilitating entry into a new school with a high degree of self-confidence, independence and enthusiasm for learning.
We are a non-profit parent co-operative. As a co-operative there are many ways for parents to engage with the school and support our professional staff. Parents are obligated to do 20 hours of co-operative work over the school year that may include serving on parent committees, participating in maintenance days, and providing special skills or sharing special interests.
