The Process

WAITLISTING YOUR CHILD

If you are interested in Arlington Montessori House, regardless of your child’s age, we encourage families to submit a one-time application and application fee. Arlington Montessori House maintains a waitlist for three years out.

If you have any further questions about waitlisting your child, please contact the office.

ELIGIBILITY TO START THE PRIMARY PROGRAM

To enter the primary program at AMH, there are two bright line requirements:

  1. The child must be at least two and a half years old at the time of enrollment; and

  2. The child must be developmentally ready to start the AMH program, which includes being able to use the toilet independently.

These requirements will generally bring children into our primary program during the ideal window between 2 and a half years and 4 years of age.

ELIGIBILITY TO START THE TODDLER PROGRAM

  1. The child must be at least sixteen months old at the time of enrollment; and

  2. The child must be walking independently.

For both programs, mid-year enrollments will be considered on a case by case basis and as space allows.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

  1. Submit an application and the non-refundable $100 Application Fee.  We accept applications on a rolling basis.

  2. Attend either an Information Session or request a prospective parent visit. Information sessions are held in fall and winter.

  3. AMH will begin working with prospective families in January of the child's enrollment year.

  4. AMH will contact families to schedule a Classroom Observation and an Admissions Meeting.

  5. Offers of enrollment are made on an individual basis after taking into consideration the balance of age, gender and program needs.
